Eastern Kentucky PRIDE is honored to work alongside Congressman Hal Rogers, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and local community leaders to bring safer water to help the communities in our region through the Section 531 Infrastructure Program.
SECTION 531 PROJECTS
Elliott County Water Tower at Little Sandy Correctional Facility
Helping provide clean, secure water and improved infrastructure to the Little Sandy Correctional Facility. This project will provide stability after a major line break in 2022 and allow for a more stable system for prison expansion.
Elkhorn City Stillhouse Water Tank
Helping provide expanded access to clean water to citizens in Elkhorn City by replacing a 40+ year old water tank and increasing PSI to the community. This project will positively impact 500 homes and 35 businesses.
City of Jenkins Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion
Helping provide improved infrastructure and expanded access to wastewater for citizens of the City of Jenkins, adding 115 new homes to service. This project will positively impact 621 homes and 56 businesses.
Morehead State University Sewer & Water Rehab PRoject
Helping provide safer water on campus by eliminating cross connections and also eliminating lining of sanitary sewer mains and manholes to reduce inflow and infiltration. This project will also replace leaky water mains to reduce water losses. This project will positively impact the >3,200 residential students, 800 faculty/staff, and >5,000 non-residential students using the system.
City of Williamsburg Downtown Water Improvements
Helping to improve infrastructure for clean water access to the citizens of Williamsburg by replacing old waterlines, constructing a new water tank, rehabilitating tanks and pumps, and improving the Water Treatment Plant. This project will positively impact 8,833 homes and 460 businesses.
