Johnson County wins PRIDE volunteerism award

Johnson County received a trophy on Oct. 5, 2015, for outstanding volunteerism. The county recruited more volunteers than any other community across 42 counties of southern and eastern Kentucky during the 2015 PRIDE Spring Cleanup. Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup nets 400-plus bags of trash

A cookout was held for the 99 volunteers who picked up roadside litter during the Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup.

Nearly 100 volunteers turned out to pick up roadside litter during the fifth annual Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 25. The Cumberland Falls Spring Cleanup on March 28 drew 249 volunteers to pick up litter along Hwy. 90 and other roads near Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.
