McCreary County residents who are registered on garbage service will be allowed to dump for free (1 truck/trailer load per household) from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the transfer station on Wilburn Ross Hwy. in Stearns, thanks to PRIDE and 2012 grant funding. If you are not on the garbage service, please call 606-376-3551 to sign up.

Volunteers are needed to clean county line to county line on Saturday, April 28. Free t-shirt, lunch and chance at door prizes for all volunteers. $100 cash prizes for the school group and civic group with the most volunteers.
Volunteer registration begins at 9 a.m. Location TBA (either IGA or County Park in Whitley City)
Volunteers will pick up litter from 10 a.m. until Noon, and then will enjoy a free lunch and door prizes, including a pair of tickets to one UK basketball game for the 2013 season.
All participating non-profit, civic and school groups from McCreary County will qualify to earn money to conduct roadside litter abatement cleanups this summer. Call 606-376-2556 or 606-376-2413 to learn more about this program and fundraising for your group.
