Businesses can improve their customer service with free training in April and May available through the new The Kentucky Wildlands Hospitality Program.

“Elevate Your Service” is the theme of the certificate program. It is designed for any business that serves the public, such as restaurants, hotels and retail stores.

Two types of training classes are available. For front-line employees, the class will cover why and how to deliver excellent customer service. The manager class will delve deeper into infusing hospitality throughout the business.

“As our economy starts to return to normal, now is a great time to put your best foot forward to customers, and this training will help you do just that” said Tammie Nazario, who directs The Kentucky Wildlands, a regional marketing program by Eastern Kentucky PRIDE, Inc. “Good hospitality translates into repeat business and positive word-of-mouth and social media reviews.”

“This program is especially a good fit for tourism businesses, which are so critical to attracting dollars to the local economy and creating new jobs,” she added. “For Trail Towns, this program can fulfill your commitment to providing local hospitality training.”

“Hospitality is what our community and region is known for, and we want to ensure that our citizens and workforce have the proper tools to take the reputation to the next level,” said Chris Girdler, President/Chief Executive Officer of the Somerset-Pulaski County Economic Development Authority, which is a partner in marketing the training program in Somerset.

“We are thrilled to partner with The Kentucky Wildlands and see this first-class training offered,” Girdler said. “SPEDA views tourism as a major tool of economic development, and we put a high priority in its promotion.”

“Tourism is our community’s number one industry generating more than $126 million last year alone in Pulaski County,” he added. “Every business should want to participate in this training, but especially those directly related to the tourism industry that interact with our visitors on a regular basis.”

Schedule and Registration

For the convenience of businesses, the classes will be repeated on several days in locations across southern and eastern Kentucky.
