PRIDE prepares for Spring Cleanup 2017
February 2, 2017 by Angela TraverSOMERSET, KY — The temperatures may still be freezing outside, but PRIDE’s Spring Cleanup Month will be here before you know it. As we prepare for warmer weather and begin to welcome visitors into the area, PRIDE would like to invite community members in southern and eastern Kentucky to join us for our annual Spring Cleanup Campaign and help remove trash from the roads, waterways and visitor attractions in our region.
“After a long winter it is great to get outside and do something positive for the environment,” said PRIDE’s Tammie Wilson. “We invite you to join us for one of our scheduled cleanups or organize one of your own and really make a difference in your community.”
PRIDE will kickoff their Spring Cleanup Campaign at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park Saturday, March 25 at 10 a.m. Volunteers will help clean roadways leading into the park and specific areas around the falls. For other Spring Cleanup events visit the calendar on the PRIDE website at http://kypride.org/calendar. If you would like us to list your cleanup on our website please email PRIDE@centertech.com. PRIDE can also help support cleanups by providing supplies such as trash bags, gloves and safety vests. Contact our office toll free at 888-577-4339 for more information on how PRIDE can assist you with your cleanup efforts.
“2017 marks the 20th anniversary of PRIDE and we are excited to begin the celebration with our annual Spring Cleanup,” said Wilson. “The effort PRIDE has put forth over the past two decades has truly created “A Generation of Change” and we are proud to continue making strides to create a positive impact on the landscape of southern and eastern Kentucky.”
