138 volunteered for Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup

2016 Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup volunteers

These Clinton County residents were among the 138 volunteers who joined the 2016 Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup.

The drive to Dale Hollow Lake is more scenic now, thanks to the 138 volunteers who picked up roadside litter during the sixth annual Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 16.

The volunteers collected 620 bags of trash along the roads leading to Dale Hollow Lake.

All volunteers received a free lunch and T-shirt. Many volunteers won door prizes, including pontoon rentals at Sulphur Creek Resort and Hendricks Creek Resort.

“This year’s PRIDE cleanup was a great success and without the participation of community volunteers it would have not been possible,” said Clinton County Judge-Executive Richard Armstrong. “I would like to thank PRIDE for their dedication to Kentucky counties. I encourage everyone to help keep our county and state clean by being responsible, and not littering.”

“This event has grown each year in the efforts to clean up the roadsides in the Dale Hollow area,” said Cumberland County Judge-Executive John A. Phelps, Jr. “I want to personally thank each and every person for their dedication and hard work in continuing to make this event a success each year.”

“Clinton County and Cumberland County communities really worked together to make this cleanup a fun, rewarding event,” said Tammie Wilson of PRIDE. “I want to thank all the volunteers and donors, as well as our partners in organizing the cleanup.”

The donors of food, door prizes, services, or money were: Bill Curtis, Burkesville Baptist Church, Citizen’s Bank of Cumberland County, Clinton County Clerk, Cowboy Charcoal, Dairy Queen of Albany, Dale Hollow Marina, Dale Hollow State Resort Park, Don Franklin Auto, Equity Group of Albany, First & Farmers National Bank of Albany and Burkesville, Gaddie Shamrock, Hendricks Creek Resort, Horseshoe Grill of Albany, Houchen’s, Hunter’s BBQ, IGA of Albany and Burkesville, John A.
