On April 26, hundreds of volunteers will come together to clean lake roads during the fourth annual Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup. All volunteers will receive a free lunch and will be entered into a drawing for door prizes.

“It has been a long winter, and people will be anxious to enjoy Dale Hollow Lake as the weather improves,” said Tammie Wilson of PRIDE, one of the Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup sponsors. “The lake roads will need extra attention this year if they are to look their best for us and visitors.”

“You can expect a rewarding experience when you volunteer on April 26 because the Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup is well established now, thanks to enthusiastic leadership by our local partners,” Wilson added. “I want to thank them, and they are the Cumberland County Fiscal Court, Clinton County Fiscal Court, Dale Hollow State Resort Park, Hendricks Creek Resort and Sulphur Creek Resort.”

“PRIDE has become a household springtime name in Cumberland County since its origination in 1997,” said Cumberland County Judge-Executive John A. Phelps, Jr. “The assistance that is offered through PRIDE, to help keep our beautiful community clean, is so very important to Cumberland County. PRIDE also helps bring our community together as a whole to make everyone aware that every one is Personally Responsible In our Desirable Environment.”

“I am so thankful to have had PRIDE helping Cumberland County since I have been Cumberland County Judge Executive, and I am looking forward to working with PRIDE each and every year to keep the Cumberland County Community clean,” Phelps added.

From 10 a.m. until Noon CT, volunteers will pick up litter along the roads around the lake. Safe, age-appropriate cleanup areas will be available for groups with children, such as schools and churches.

Volunteer registration will begin at 9 a.m. at these locations: Hendricks Creek Dock, Sulphur Creek Dock and Dale Hollow State Resort Park’s picnic area.

At registration, volunteers will be directed to an area to clean. They will receive trash bags, gloves and safety vests.

At Noon, volunteers will gather for a free cook-out at the picnic area at Dale Hollow State Resort Park. The door prize drawing will be held during the cook-out.

The Dale Hollow Spring Cleanup is part of the PRIDE Spring Cleanup campaign across 42 counties of southern and eastern Kentucky. The region-wide PRIDE Spring Cleanup is sponsored by Outdoor Venture Corporation, Walmart and Waste Management of Kentucky.
