RSVP now for free water/wastewater trainings

PRIDE is pleased to partner with the Kentucky Rural Water Association to present free training workshops for elected officials, drinking water professionals, and wastewater professionals, thanks to a grant from USDA Rural Development. The worskshops target the 42 counties served by PRIDE.

The objective is to help attendees better perform their roles and enhance the operations at their facilities.

The two-day workshops are free, and lunch will be provided both days. Continuing education hours will be awarded.

2016 WORKSHOPS
Dates and locations will be announced at www.kypride.org and www.krwa.org. Sign up for e-mail notices at PRIDE@centertech.com.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Operators will be granted credit for actual time attending the sessions. The maximum number of training credit hours each day will be six (6) hours. The maximum number of training credit hours for the two-day course will be twelve (12) hours.

Local government officials may earn continuing education hours, pending approval of a request that has been submitted to the Department of Local Government.

REGISTRATION FOR SEPTEMBER 9-10 WORKSHOP

Registration is now open for the September 9-10 workshop, which will be held at: Central Kentucky Agriculture-Exposition Center, 678 S Wallace Wilkinson, Liberty, KY 42539.

Space is limited. Registrants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Priority will be given to registrants from the 42-county PRIDE service area.

DAY 1 (6 CEs for water and wastewater operators)

8:30 am – 9:30 am — “Asset Management” by Steve Capps, Kentucky Rural Water Association

9:30 am – 10:30 am — “Operator Responsibilities and Ethics” by Steve Capps, Kentucky Rural Water Association

11:30 am – 12:30 pm — Lunch provided

12:30 pm – 3:30 pm — “Source Water Protection” by Jack Stickney, Kentucky Rural Water Association

DAY 2 (6 CEs for water and wastewater operators)

8:30 am – 11:30 am — “Excavation and Trenching Safety” by Mark Houghton, Kentucky Division of OSHA Education and Training

11:30 am – 12:30 pm — Lunch provided

12:30 pm – 2:30 pm —  “Laboratory Analysis for Water and Wastewater” by Ted Simmons, Hach Company

2:30 pm – 3:30 pm — “Pumps for Water and Wastewater” by Al Buechele, R. A. Ross & Associates, Inc.
